Inerior Decorating Process

Step 1: Initial Meeting

The consultation meeting launches your project. During this meeting we will discuss the scope of your project, your expectations and your budget. We'll get to know each other and we'll walk through a series of questions to help understand your tastes, your lifestyle and the functions of the space. Please set aside sufficient time for this meeting as it is critical to our partnership and a successful project.

It is important that you have an understanding of your budget before we begin. We need to ensure that we can meet your expectations within the budget. Our fees are separate so we'll also discuss these fees and payment schedules.

We will review a sample Letter of Agreement and should we decide to proceed with the project, we'll discuss the appointment of decision-makers, communication schedules and of course we will address any questions you may have about us or your project. Your personalized Letter of Agreement for signature will result from this meeting and be presented before work begins on the project.

Step 2: Letter of Agreement signed and deposit paid

Shortly following the consultation you will receive your Letter of Agreement with details about your project scope, fee structure and schedules, client responsibilities and decorator responsibilities. The deposit will be accepted and will be credited against your final invoice at the conclusion of the project. Please note that if there is more than one decision maker in the household both will be required to sign the Letter of Agreement.

Step 3: Site Measure and Trades Day

Detailed measurements and photographs will be taken of the space(s) involved in your project. Where appropriate, contractors will also be asked to attend your home to take their own measurements.

Step 4: Design Scheme

We'll discuss colours, lighting, fabrics, furniture, space planning… any of the design elements that are included in your project. We'll work together to create a space that is uniquely yours. We will discuss pricing details for individual items and present options. This step may take one meeting or it may take several meetings. The time required will depend upon the scope of the project and we'll arrange trips to showrooms for you to see or touch some of the selections should you wish. Just remember, we'll need timely sign off to maintain pricing and availability. We'll be transparent and we encourage you to take the time you need - this is where the smallest details are considered. During this step we turn your vision into reality and "lead your way home"!

Step 5: Presentation and Sign Off

The final selections are presented for consideration and sign off inclusive of final pricing. If further options are required we'll make adjustments and revisit Step 4, the Design Scheme, until you are satisfied that the result of selections is reflective of your style, your expectations and your budget. Once we have agreement and all elements finalized we'll require the signature of all decision makers to begin executing your project.

Step 6: Work Commences

A detailed work plan and time-table is developed for work by tradespeople, purchases, final deliveries and installations. While most projects go smoothly, it is important to remember that bumps along the way may occur and our schedule may require minor adjustments.

You'll be provided with a copy of work orders by trades. These work orders are signed by all decision makers and you'll be expected to return a signed copy with a deposit and / or full payment according to the requirements of the trade. For those activities or items requiring a deposit, the balance of payment will be due when the service is completed.

We'll keep the lines of communication open! We'll have already agreed on whether you wish to be fully involved or prefer that we manage the entire project on your behalf. We'll be onsite to make sure the design is properly executed with high quality workmanship.

Once the work has been completed we're ready to receive the furniture, lights, window treatments, area rugs, art and accessories that you have selected. We'll apply the principles of design, position furniture, fluff and downright obsess over your project until we get it right. This is where it all comes together for that "WOW" factor that is uniquely yours.

Step 7: Follow - Up

It is important to us that no detail has been forgotten. It is so important to us that we'll return to your home to walk through the rooms of your project. We'll confirm that the work completed by the trades and your furniture and finishes selections have met expectations. We want to make sure that all concerns have been addressed and nothing remains outstanding.
